Hundreds of Homes in Cawang Flooded

Hundreds of houses in RW 02 Cawang, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta are inundated after water overflowed from Ciliwung River since 2 AM, Bogor, West Java. Until now, water level has reached 50-150 centimeters.

Until now, the water still inundates homes and locals had to use boat to do activities

Abdul Khair (52), a local resident disclosed the peak of the overflowed Ciliwung River  until 5 AM. Despite there is no evacuation, citizen activity becomes distracted and had to use six assembled boats.  

"Until now, the water still inundates homes and locals had to use boat to do activities," he stated, Monday (11/7).

Chairman of RW 02 Cawang, Juanda explains flood has been soaking 354 homes in RT 10, 11 and 12 that are located on the lowland and basin areas. 

"And now flood has started receding gradually," he expressed.

Separately, Kramat Jati Sub-district Head, Eka Darmawan disclosed, flooding is due to heavy rain from Bogor and caused overflowing water from Katulampa and Depok sluice gates.

"If the normalization is done, I believe the condition can be minimized," he uttered.
